Bridlington, nicknamed the "Lobster Capital of Europe" is a small coastal town of East Riding of Yorkshire. It is not very touristy town compare to other places but it has a very impressive Promenade with the usual seaside shops/ stall and a beautiful beach.
A great walk from Bridlington is alongside the coast to Old Flamborough Lighthouse. The views are impressive mostly when you get to The Drinking Dinosaur and Selwicks Bay which are very popular for the breathtaking views and the cliffs. You can explore the beach and coves which have caves and sea life.
We walked around 11 miles from Bridlington city centre to Flamborough head and back to our final stop The Ship Inn where we had a nice meal and planned our next day.
We enjoyed the seaside now it’s time to change the scenery and we decided to go to Pickering and North York Moors National Park.
On our way to the forest, we visited Pickering Castle, a splendid 13th century castle which was used as a royal hunting lodge, holiday home and stud farm by a succession of medieval kings.
Dalby Forest it’s a fantastic place to visit with numerous walking and cycling trails throughout the area. The parking is £9 per day and we parked near the Visitor centre. The routes are not difficult and it’s a lovely place to go for a nice walk with the family.
Last day of our holiday was in Scarborough. We’ve visited the town few years ago but it was lovely to go back and spend some time on the beach, eat some lobster and enjoy a nice walk to the the Castle.
